Dear Back or Hip Pain Sufferers,
Being positive in life is key in so many ways; I think the thoughts which dominate our mind are our reality. There is a reason why we are in pain, something we need to learn to do or change. This can be physical, emotional, the way we live our life, our thoughts, diet or a combination of things and by internalising and focusing on ourselves, we start to notice what we personally need to do to change in our lives, raising our awareness is essential, while gathering the tools from outside help we need for a pain free life...
Hopefully the deep breathing is making you relaxed and you've been repeating the words in point 2. If you're not noticing anything, keep with it; it is part of changing your mindset.
But if you have noticed a change, remember life is like a rolling wheel. So when we experience a 'down' you know an 'up' will come along at some point.
So if you lapse or do not feel as positive about being able to improve your health, just repeat the words again to reinforce them.
To increase your self awareness it just requires a little 'me' time each and everyday focusing on ourselves harmonising mind and body to start to notice what you personally need to do to change in your life, while using the little outside help you do need for a pain free life.

Believe in yourself. Why do we always look to outside sources to totally help us with our health issues?
Of course this is necessary partially in some cases, but I've found it's not the total solution. Health, happiness and a back or hip pain free life are possible because of a combination of things and who knows about you best? Of course it is you!
You spend 24 hours each day with yourself, love it or hate it, it's reality. So with a little assistance where necessary and belief in yourself changes can happen.
Once we make a start dedicating just 20 minutes each day for ourselves it does get easier and easier to do and when 'me' time becomes habit it is easy to continue and actually does not feel right when we miss a day. Not much really is it? To give yourself a chance to make life better. And once it starts to improve, it just keeps on going, little by little each and everyday, one day at a time, noticing something you've done towards your back or hip pain free life and telling yourself "well done".
Not putting timescales or pressure on yourself, just knowing each day you've done something totally and utterly for you. Perseverance is needed though, you have to keep going, we seem to have a built-in self destruct. Maybe it's fear - we feel more secure with what we know, even if it is back pain, rather than venturing into the unknown, ready to sabotage what we are doing at any given opportunity in case we don't get the outcome we want.
We get into a downward spiral which is so gradual over time. We're not talking weeks or months, but years, so we don't really notice the gradual change and think on the whole we feel fine (unless your back or hip pain is chronic) as this is what we are used to. But following improved change, you discover how you really can feel and in actual fact, you did not feel fine at all and your back or hip pain was telling you that.
So that's why belief is so important. Sometimes we have too many negative thoughts wearing us down. The more we have them, the more they take over us and in many instances manifest in pain. So believe in yourself and today flip any negative thoughts and change them into a positive ones. If you look hard enough there is always a positive and again the more you do that the less negative you'll feel and go on to believe you can make a change to become back or hip pain free, a journey only you can start.
So to recap, deep breathing, tell yourself you've started your journey to a back or hip pain free life, quietly praising yourself and believing you can make a difference and remembering this is your helping hand - that little outside help you need.
