Recently Optima Magazine interviewed me and did a wonderful 3 page article in their 16th Feb issue and this enabled me to start a back pain and hip pain support group, something i'd always had in mind to do. As i'm website based with customers as far as America it had not been that feasible, although technology would allow this to happen, an online support group was not a starting point for me as I felt meeting face to face appealed more to see how things went.
Due to the article and local customers my first back and hip pain support group took place, we got on so well and it felt the most natural thing in the world. There is definitely common personality traits with back pain sufferers and further more there appears to always be emotional issues too and it also surprises me that we know what these are, but have no idea how they impact on us until it is highlighted.
We chatted non stop and the hour flew by and my aim of motivating and inspiring was fulfilled. I know we can become pain free, others are experiencing it to and now with my support group I can reach out to a wider local audience.
All we really need is a helping hand, someone that understands, the right tools for the job and then to do it, to take ownership, learn about ourselves and start to live a life true to who we really are, it can be done and once we discover our own path in life a unique journey to becoming pain free is possible.
We left feeling invigorated, it had been a great success and a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all concerned. A new path for us all had started, slowly, but surely, onward and upward.
The plan is to run the group every four weeks with the next one on 26th April 2013, so please get in contact for further details, i'd love to hear from you!
An online group will also be happening soon, any ideas on how I should do this, please let me know?
So for now, here's to the next motivational back and hip pain meeting and very much indeed, I hope to see you there!
